International Thanksgiving Day 2025“Gratitude without Borders: United in Thankfulness”10/29/2025

        In a vibrant celebration of unity, culture, and gratitude, USI community gathered on October 29, 2025, for this year’s International Thanksgiving Day themed “Gratitude without Borders: United in Thankfulness.” The event opened with an inspiring scripture from Psalm 96:3–4: “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.    For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise.”        The verse set a reverent and joyous tone for a day filled with worship, cultural appreciation, and heartfelt thanksgivingThe celebration began with powerful praise led by the Uni Worship Team, who performed “Praise” and “Thank You Jesus.” The spirit of worship resonated strongly throughout the venue as attendees joined in song and reflection.     

Pastor Julius Solis delivered an uplifting Thanksgiving message, reminding everyone of the beauty of gratitude and the importance of acknowledging God’s abundant faithfulness across nations and generations.          Warm and encouraging words from Yechan Roh officially welcomed guests, setting an atmosphere of unity and anticipation for the multicultural presentations that followed.The Cultural Presentations segment emerged as one of the most anticipated highlights of the celebration, showcasing the rich diversity and vibrancy of the nations represented within the community. The program opened with Grade 1’s charming Vietnamese performance, “Hát Hội Trăng Rằm (Singing at the Full Moon Festival),” a delightful tribute to Vietnam’s beloved Mid-Autumn Festival. This was followed by Grade 2 and 10B, who energized the audience with their lively American numbers, “Footloose” and “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride.” Grade 4 then transported everyone to Peru through the spirited Valicha Peruvian Dance, capturing the rhythmic essence of the Andes. Continuing the celebration of global heritage, Grade 5 brought Uganda to life with the joyful and expressive “Tamasha.” Grades 6 and 7 presented a graceful and melodic interpretation of the Solomon Islands’ “He Mele No Lilo,” enchanting the crowd with its island charm. Grade 11 showcased European tradition and elegance through a vibrant Polish Folk Dance, while Grade 12 delivered a dynamic cross-cultural finale featuring Korea’s “The Tiger is Coming” and the Philippines’ “Tara Na, Kanta Na Pilipinas.” Each performance was met with enthusiastic applause, reflecting the community’s deep appreciation for cultural diversity and the students’ heartfelt celebration of their global identities.     

The program concluded with the uplifting singing of “Unite All Nations,” a fitting finale that echoed the event’s spirit of harmony and togetherness. This was followed by heartfelt closing remarks and a sincere prayer led by Jhara S. Cruz, who expressed deep gratitude for the meaningful gathering and offered blessings for the year ahead. Her message left the audience with a renewed sense of unity, thankfulness, and hope as the celebration came to a close.This year, the celebration also highlighted outstanding creativity and participation through special recognitions. “Best in Costume” was awarded to Grade 4, whose vibrant attire perfectly complemented their spirited Peruvian dance. “Best in Performance” went to Grade 5, whose energetic and joyful presentation of “Tamasha” captivated the audience. Meanwhile, Grade 8 earned the title of “Best in Booth” for their impressive setup that stood out among the food and activity stations. These awards added an extra layer of excitement to the event, celebrating the students’ hard work, artistry, and enthusiasm.
